Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Rihanna has created her own makeup line – FENTY BEAUTY. Touted as a cruelty free brand that caters to all skin colours from all countries, it has stirred up the beauty world. People have been waiting in digital lines to order their products. But are they worth the hype ? We tried to find out by quizzing makeup mogul Jasmeet Kapany.

Jasmeet says, “I ordered foundation and cream highlighter from Fenty Beauty’s official website. Its actually pretty easy to order and they show you how many pieces are left in stock. Unfortunately they don’t ship to India so I had it shipped to a friend in America and she brought it for me here.

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation – I have the shades 240 Warm and 280 Warm Peach

I thought that the foundation was pretty good. Their variety of shades is amazing. They’ve covered not only light, medium and deep skintones but also every undertone (warm, neutral and cool). A lot of times, foundations can look ashy because they don’t suit your undertone. Even Makeup Forever which is such a great brand for foundations has this problem. But Fenty beauty doesn’t. The coverage is medium and buildable, the formulation is fluid and the finish is semi-matte. It works well with all skin types but if you have dry skin, I suggest you mix it with your moisturizer and then apply it.

  • Excellent colour range – They have 40 shades
  • Medium coverage – Sometimes we don’t want very high coverage and when we do this can be built up.

  • Haven’t found any (yet).

Price – $ 34

Verdict – Recommended

Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick cream Highlighter – I ordered the shades Blonde (glimmering gold) and Sinamon (cinnamon bronze).

I wasn’t too thrilled with the highlighter sticks. They were too dry. If you don’t blend them immediately after application they just don’t work. I don’t recommend this product to girls with dry skin. I have placed another order for the powder highlighter in shade Champagne, hopefully that’ll be better. ”

  • Packaging – Its cute, magnetic and different.
  •  Its from Rihanna (that’s the reason everyone’s buying it right?)

  • Texture is too dry
  • The shades Blonde and Sinamon don’t really suit Indian skin tones

Price – $ 25

Verdict – Not recommended
